Today in the Writer's Den - Heather Thurmeier

Hello, Readers. Join me in welcoming author Heather Thurmeier to the Writer’s Den. Heather is a lover of margaritas and a hater of spiders. She was born and raised in the Canadian prairies, but now she lives in New York where she’s become an odd Canuck-Yankee hybrid. Heather’s currently writing her next romance, which will probably be filled with sassy heroines, sexy heroes that make your heart pound, laugh out loud moments and always a happily ever after. She has thirteen published books and she was one of my first interviews here on the blog back in April 2014.

Welcome back, Heather. It’s great to see you this Thanksgiving holiday. Before we get to the nitty gritty about your new book, let’s get to know a little bit more about you – what is your favorite word?

HT: Moist.
LOL. I’m just kidding! I know that word sends a chill down the spines of many. Hmm…Favorite word is probably happy. It’s such a nice word and one that I like to hear often from the people around me.

What is your least favorite word?

HT: Moist.
LOL. Just kidding again! Least favorite word is hate. It’s not a nice word. And it’s such a strong word. We’d all be a lot better off in life if there was more happy and less hate.

Okay, that’s funny. What turns you on?

HT: A sense of humor is definitely a good thing. I know, that’s a really clean answer, but that’s all you’re getting from me! I love that my man can make me laugh.

What turns you off?

HT: Bad breath. Thank God hubs doesn’t have that problem!

What sound or noise do you love?

HT: My kids laughing and playing! Is there anything better than hearing them have a good time and enjoy life?

There really isn’t. What sound or noise do you hate?

HT: Chewing. Seriously, so annoying! I don’t want to hear people eat.

What is your favorite curse word?

HT: Fuck. Is there any other that even compares? It’s so versatile and yet still so simple and effective.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

HT: If I couldn’t be a writer anymore, then I’d probably like to be a therapeutic riding helper. I love horses and I think it would be fun to help people with different challenges benefit from the riding experience. I’m not at all trained to do that job, but I think I would like it.

What profession would you not like to do?

HT: I would not like to be a police officer or firefighter. I’m way to chicken for those jobs. I run from danger not toward it!

If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

HT: I’d like God to say, “You did a good job of living.”

That’s a great answer. Now tell us about your newest release: The Hometown Hoax

HT: Tessa Cutter escaped her tiny hometown and chased her artistic dreams straight to Manhattan. Now she’s home for a camping trip with her family. To keep them off her back, she makes up the perfect pretend boyfriend—successful, important, and most of all, permanently located in New York.
Logan Ridley lost everything when his Manhattan-based personal training studio shut down. Luckily, a friend got him a position as a gym teacher in the small town of Cutter’s Creek. He’s heard a lot about the infamous Tessa, but she’s even better than he imagined. Except, she seems to hate everything about the small town he’s growing to love.
The chemistry sparking between them is impossible to ignore, but falling for Logan will trap Tessa in the small town she worked so hard to escape. If they have any hope of a future together, he’ll have to convince her that everything she wants has been in Cutter’s Creek all along.
That’s sounds really sweet and fun – love triangle with a fake boyfriend! Oh, hometown hoax. Clearly I need more coffee. Heather, thank you for taking time out of your holiday preparations to be my guest! ;) Moist, I mean most of all, thanks for sharing the deets on your new book which can be purchased at Entangle Publishing, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes and Kobo.

Leaving was hard, but staying away might be impossible.
A contemporary romance
“Ah ha!” he cheered, crawling back with his found treasure between his teeth. He dropped it onto her belly and grinned. “I do know what you mean. But no, I don’t always have one on me. Silly me, I thought most women would call me egotistical if I presumed that they might want to sleep with me and brought along provisions wherever I went.”

“Oh we would.” She picked up the foil packet toyed with the edge, debating if she should tear it open or not. They couldn’t go any further if she didn’t. “So you presumed you’d get lucky with me today, did you?”

He took the packet from her fingers and tore it open, then rolled it onto his length. She couldn’t help but watch. And squirm with anticipation. His pre-show had been outstanding, but she bet his main event would be even more fantastic.

“I didn’t presume anything, but I’d have to be an idiot not to be prepared in any situation. That’s why my emergency first aid kit has one of these bad boys in it.” He tossed the foil to the side and crawled between her legs, pausing at her entrance while he pulled her legs around his waist.

“In case of emergency hard on, tear foil. That kind of thing?” She practically vibrated while waiting impatiently for him to slide into her heat.
