#ChristmasTreats Blog Hop

Image
Giveaway has ended, BARBARA STOKER is our winner! Happy Holidays I did this same hop last year ( Celebrate the Season ) and my husband surprised me on Christmas morning with books from my hop wish list! Let’s keep our fingers crossed, eh? My all-time favorite #ChristmasTreats - after books - is Chocolatey Stars. I don't know why they aren't sold all year. But they're not. And I don’t know if these are sold nationwide, or globally, or if they are a local treat. Also, I don't know why these shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with nonpareils makes me so happy but they do. They really, really do. What I am sure of is my favorite holiday special is Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. It's a treat for my heart every season. I saw it the very first time when it first aired in 1978. It was my third Christmas. I was two; and I sobbed because Big Bird got lost. It is still, thirty-seven Christmas’s later, my favorite. I have it on VHS tape and on ...

Willpower, Where are You?

Image
It’s that time of the year!   I don’t necessarily mean for the gift-giving, merry wishes, and days off from work – though all of that is good, too.   No. I mean, it’s that time of year when food is everywhere!   Ever notice this?   With the parties, the holiday dinners, the cookie baking, and the influx of food gifts in the office, there’s no escape.   I can tell myself, “you’ll regret it, girl,” but we all know that’s more foreshadowing than an effective warning. Sometimes I wish I were more like my character, Rachel, in Her Everything .   The woman eats like one berry in the entire story.   I hadn’t planned it that way, but she turned out to be very busy <wink>.   LOL.       Seriously, though, despite my griping over how my pants will become a little tighter during the following weeks, there are some foods that I do look forward to, and only have them during the holiday season.   ·    ...

Celebrate the Wonder of the Season!

Image
No not him – but wow! Okay let’s take a second and celebrate him. [pause] Phew! Alright, alright. What we’re really doing to celebrate the wonder of the season is a Christmas blog hop starting today and continuing through the 31st. Visit all of the blogs to see what your favorite bloggers love most about the season and which books have made their Christmas wish lists! There's a giveaway at each stop so be sure to visit them all & a grand prize giveaway for an Amazon gift card on the hosting blogs main page! Each blog will post about what they're looking forward to during the holiday season plus which books are on their wish list or "gotta get for friends" list. I love Christmas. My mother always made this a very special time of year for us when we were kids – from Thanksgiving through New Year’s our house was filled with magic. I had the first of my two daughters when I was only seventeen years old, and when you are that young, as a single par...

Don’t panic but there are only 52 days left until Christmas. Where did the year go? I’m already getting seasonal emails and a friend of mine saw a Christmas themed commercial this Saturday. The news outlets have begun to talk about what stores will and won’t be open on Thanksgiving Day. Not to be outdone - I have news about a Christmas novella by author Christy Newton releasing today for the incredible low, low price of 99 ¢ Get A Little Bit of Christmas for 99 cents at Amazon.com   ABOUT THE BOOK After a tragic accident that brought the small town of Wynter Haven to their knees, Claire Belmont and Nick Lewis went in opposite directions coping in very different ways. Three years later, Claire gets a call urging her to come back to help her friend move past his grief. It will take more than a little hot cider, gingerbread and mistletoe to bring back Nick’s holiday spirit. He hasn’t celebrated Christmas since his twin sister died. In fact, he’s mastered locki...
