Dark Love Rising by Danita Minnis Blurb: Former MI6 agent Xavier Quinn would say that you're daft if you think he will stop killing for a living. But that is exactly what is about to happen. Very soon now, Quinn will start killing to stay alive. On the run after taking out the wrong man, Quinn would die a happy man if he could just live long enough to ruin the Parliament member who set him up. Layla, a 2,000 year old vampire with a moral code, has other plans for the contract killer. When she awakens to the sound of a dark rising, she enlists Quinn to join her on a mission to save humanity from her twin sister Tamara. But Quinn is just the kind of man that a cold-blooded killer like Tamara needs in her world. A man like Quinn, who never believed in humanity, has only one belief; self-preservation. Being a vampire sounds much better than staying human in the game of kill or be killed. Will he stay alive long enough to find out how Layla's love can change the equatio

Location, location, location

You’ve heard the phrase:  location, location, location ?  It’s a real estate mantra meant to emphasize the location of the house can ultimately be the most important element in the decision to buy. And if you watch any of those real estate shows on cable television with any type of regularity, you’re nodding your head right now in agreement. For an author, location is a completely different ball of wax altogether. We’re talking about where the story is set. In science fiction it’s often a brand new world of the author’s design or a hypothetical version of one we all recognize. Historical romance takes a great deal of time, trouble and research to guarantee the setting is accurate to the era the author or her characters chose. Westerns… well, you get the idea.  And sometimes the location/setting becomes its own character. Daphne DeMaurier's  Rebecca  wouldn't be  Rebecca  with Manderley. Can you imagine Harry's adventures anywhere except within the walls of Hogwart&

The temperatures are finally dropping, and the smell of roasting green chile fills the air. (Stop by my blog for information on the New Mexico chile and some Southwestern recipes .) It's the perfect time to curl up with a good book. Of course, ANY time is the right time for a good book! I hope you're staying safe, warm, and dry, with plenty of good books to read. ~ Kris Counterfeits Jenny returns to her grandparents’ art camp in a remote New Mexico town after her grandmother’s sudden death. That night she wakes to the noise of intruders. What do the strangers want? As more bizarre events unfold, Jenny realizes the people she thought she knew are not what they seem – least of all Rob, an old friend whose past may be coming back to haunt them all. Counterfeits
